Kyoto University Institutes and Centers Symposiums
With the main theme: <Proposals from Kyoto − Discussing Japan in the 21st Century −>, the KUIC Symposiums had been held mainly by the KUIC Director Meeting for general citizens in other major cities than Kyoto once a year since FY2004. With the launch of the KURCA in April 2015, the main theme was revised as < Challenges from Kyoto − Toward Global Society and Coexistence in Harmony −>. During the symposiums, the research activities and outcomes of each KUIC, as well as the status and progress of research conducted by the Research Units Exploring Future Horizons are extensively reported to society. As they target not only people of the general public, but also junior and senior high school students, who will play a central role in the next-generation, and their teachers, importance is attached to ‘simplicity, attraction, and motivation-enhancement’ when planning them.
