‘Kyoto University Yoshida Izumidono’ was opened in Yoshida-Izumidono-cho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto to provide a base for research activities to promote ‘lounge-type exchange of knowledge and wisdom’, ‘cross-cultural or inter-discipline interactions and dialogues’ and ‘strengthen organizations to support education and research’. The facility is characterized by a traditional Japanese house design, including a garden typical of Kyoto, and it is available not only for the KUICs, but also school-wide use, such as internal meetings, study meetings, and seminars.
